"Until ten years ago, police detective John Bekker had it all: a beautiful wife and daughter and a job he loved. Until his task force got too close to mob boss Eddie Crist. Bekker's home was invaded and his five-year-old daughter witnessed the murder of her mother. Since then, his institutionalized child hasn't spoken a word and Bekker is a drunk. Then he wakes up one morning handcuffed to a bed in supervised detox ... courtesy of Eddie Crist. Near death from cancer, Crist swears innocence and hires Bekker to solve the decade-old murder"--Publisher.
